Please stop wastes ruining this beautiful country

It might not be polite for a foreigner to say that people who live in this country are producing too much waste.

There were two events happened to me before, one was two electricians came to my house and replaced the broken plug. After they finish the work I saw they left the old plug on the table so I asked them if they do recycle for the old plugs or not. They just gave me an unexpected answer “You can throw it to the dustbin.” I still struggled and said “But there are screws and buttons still can be used.” And they replied me “Just throw it away.”
The other event was I used to see people worked around me waste the paper by printing or drawing. Sometimes they just used half or quarter of the paper in one side and threw it away even was a little mistake on the paper.

I really understand why South Africans waste. The reason is because this country has sufficient resource to offer current amount of population. People don’t recognize that one day those advantages will be finished at all. I think this story is not strange to everybody that how Japanese use paper. They firstly write the paper by pencil, once the paper is written fully by pencil they use pen to write afterward, in both sides. As known as Japan is a small country with limited resource and it’s the biggest reason why Japanese treasure every single thing so well.

I still remember when I was working in an aluminum factory in China two year ago. The CEO of the factory asked everybody to print anything which is informal in both sides of the paper. People who print one side with informal document would be fined 100 Yuan.
Referring to the last blog I wrote about why dinosaurs disappeared. It’s obvious that if human-beings keep wasting the earth won’t suffer and that moment the world will be ruined again. I love this beautiful city Cape Town which is one of the top cities for people to live and this county South Africa with thousands of natural views and animals.

But it’s time for you, one of the people live in this country to stop wasting, stop it to ruin your city, your country and your planet.

  1. It's sad that we live such unsustainable lives, we just need to change the south african mindset. Maybe one day it will happen
